The Best Car Washing Guide| Hand or car wash?

Car Washing is one of the essential activities that gives it an elegant and beautiful appearance. Every car owner wonders how to wash their car, but they also has his own method of removing dirt from the body. It often depends on the time we have available and how much we want to spend on the activity. It is definitely easier to use an automatic car wash. This service is not expensive, time-consuming, and does not require physical effort. But is it worth it?

Hand washing or automatic car washing – pros and cons

Car washing

Unfortunately, washing your car in an automatic car wash damages your car’s paint. Wash brushes are often neglected and dirty, and every grain of sand can pose a danger to your paint. This is a very quick way to wash a car, but car washing in such a short time you need to use strong, fast-acting agents and sharp brushes with high pressure.

So what should you use to wash your car? The auto car washing’s paint has become dull and scratched after just a few wash cycles. It is much safer to have your car washed by a hand car wash employee or to do it yourself – and it is much cheaper.

Advantages of washing your car yourself

Car washing by yourself, in addition to the low price, has another advantage. By washing car ourselves and systematically, we can check the condition of the car body and assess damage caused, for example, by small stones or frost. The sooner we notice the onset of corrosion or paint defects, the quicker we can respond by making simple repairs. Unfortunately, the working time in this case is much longer, which may be inconvenient for us. When planning to wash your car yourself, start by choosing the right location and preparing accessories, washing tools, and cleaning products.

Dry washing your car is a serious risk!

Long gone are the times when we could watch drivers washing their cars in the parking lot next to their house. Current law does not allow this, and anyone who violates it will face a fine. Fortunately, this has not led to an increase in the number of drivers washing their cars using the so-called “dry” method. It involves wiping off the dirt on the car with a soft, dry cloth.

The main disadvantage of this method is the high risk of scratches on the paint. Sometimes a random grain of sand stuck to the car’s body is enough to cause serious damage. Long wiping strokes with the cloth can scratch the paint with the sand underneath, which is part of the dirt. The second disadvantage of dry cleaning is the uneven effect. It all depends on the amount of dirt. Bottom line, this is definitely not a good way to wash a car for people who value traveling in a well-maintained car.

Touchless car wash

You can also go to a car wash and use the popular touchless wash. In this case, we gain a lot of time, because such washing takes literally a few minutes. However, in this case we also have to make compromises. The water and powder have high pressure, so rinsing the car with it may cause white streaks to appear on the bodywork when it dries, which can be difficult to remove. This is the residue that forms after washing. In addition, water may not wash away dirt from hard-to-reach parts of the body. So what is the safest car washing technique and what preparations should be used to obtain a satisfactory result?

When washing your car yourself, you must choose the right cleaning agent. We can choose from car wash shampoo or active foam. Car shampoo is suitable for low-density dirt. However, this will not work when washing a truck that has returned from a long trip. Active foam has a very strong cleaning effect, which is why it is used when removing grease, asphalt deposits, tar or insects. When used correctly – according to the recommendations on the label – it is very safe for the vehicle body. It can also be used to wash facades, paving stones, roofs, building facades, construction and agricultural equipment.

Shampoo – with or without wax?

Streak-free car shampoo is a must-have because it is a product whose mission is to remove traditional impurities such as sand, grit, or mud. Its effectiveness depends, among other things, on correct use. Shampoo should be diluted according to the manufacturer’s recommendations on the packaging. Using too little product may result in unsatisfactory cleaning effectiveness, and too much may cause the product to settle on the washed surface, resulting in streaks and streaks.

Before washing, we must rinse the car well under pressure to remove dried mud and sand. This will allow us to avoid possible scratches of the coating with dirt particles. Then we spread the diluted product on the car body using a clean sponge and wash it well.

Car shampoo is divided into shampoo with and without wax – this is what the Moje Auto brand offers. Both have their supporters.

Thorough car wash with wax-free shampoo

Waxless shampoo – Focuses mainly on washing, making it more thorough than wax shampoo, whose job is to wash and wax the bodywork at the same time. Biodegradable car wash shampoo without wax, as the name suggests, is primarily used to thoroughly remove dirt from the car body. The car will be clean but it will not be shiny. Therefore, to achieve complete satisfaction after washing, you should also wax the car. Performing these two procedures will make the car look younger than it actually is. However, achieving a satisfactory result takes a lot of time.

Lightning fast and cheap car wash

Wax shampoo – its advantage is to save time and money, with a slightly less satisfactory effect. After washing, we no longer need to apply wax to the washed surface to make it shiny and protect the paint. Wax-free shampoos are used by people who want to have a very good cleaning effect and then use special wax that makes the varnish shiny and protected against UV rays. The wax-protected coating is very easy to wash, care in this case is limited to rinsing off the dirt with water under pressure. This solution is more expensive, more time consuming, but very effective.
